What a partner sees, what they never see, and the kind of person worth asking.
An accountability partner is the person who sees whether you did what you said you would, and says so. In Simplify1 they can confirm your day item by item. Choosing the right person matters more than any setting.
Your partner has to be a friend in Simplify1 first. From their profile, you ask them to be your accountability partner and choose what they may see: everything except your private list, or only the categories you pick. Say yes to Fitness and Faith and leave Money out, and Money stays out.
What they see is done or not done, item by item, for the day. They never see the numbers behind an item, like how many glasses or how many pages. They never see your notes. And they never see Ghost, which cannot be shared with anyone at all. On a day you take off, they see a day off, not an empty list.
When they confirm one of your items, it shows on your checklist and you get a notification. A day your partner confirmed counts double toward your rank. Their confirmation doesn't change your grade; your own ticks do that. You can have more than one partner, each seeing a different part of your list, and either of you can end a partnership at any time. Partners are included on the free plan.
Start with the one or two areas where a witness makes the most difference, usually the thing you have quit before. A narrow partnership that someone checks every day does more than a wide one nobody reads. Everything you leave out still counts toward your own grade.
Before you start, have one short conversation. What counts as seeing it? A photo, a text, being in the room? What happens on a missed day: a check-in, a call, nothing at all? Two minutes of agreement up front saves a lot of awkwardness later.
If a friend asks you to witness their day, their request appears under Friends, and once you accept, you can open their day from there. Confirm what you know. Ask about what you don't. Never confirm something to be nice. The value of your confirmation is that it is true.
And if it stops working, end it kindly. Partnerships are meant to fit a season, not last forever.
Partners are one part of the community side of Simplify1, alongside friends, groups and one-on-one competitions.
